Anti-Ragging Committee

St. Ann’s P.G College for women, Mallapur-Hyderabad, promotes zero tolerance for ragging and proud to state that this College is ragging free. Students are informed to follow the act and ensure a ragging free campus.
In accordance with the supreme court on ragging (2007), the judgement of Supreme Court on ragging (2009) and the UGC regulations to curb the menace of ragging (2009) has formed an anti-ragging committee to completely wipe out the menace from the campus.

Anti-Ragging Policy
Government/University Grants Commission (UGC), guidelines notified vide no.F.1-16/2009 (CPP-II) dated 21-10-2009 on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009 (Under Section 26(1) (g) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956) are strictly implemented at St.Ann’s College, Mallapur- Hyderabad.
According to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India Ragging constitutes one or more of any of the following acts which may cause or is likely to cause physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in a fresher or a junior student:

  • Any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student; 
  • Indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student;  
  • Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student; 
  • Any act by a senior student that prevents, disrupts or disturbs the regular academic activity of any other student or fresher; 
  • Exploiting the services of a fresher or any other student for completing the academic tasks assigned to an individual or a group of students. 
  • Any act of financial extortion or forceful expenditure burden put on a fresher or any other student by students; 
  • Any act of physical abuse including all variants of it: sexual abuse, homosexual assaults, stripping, forcing obscene and lewd acts, gestures, causing bodily harm or any other danger to health or person; 
  • Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post, public insults which would also include deriving perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from actively or passively participating in the discomfort to fresher or any other student; 
  • Any act that affects the mental health and self-confidence of a fresher or any other student with or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student. 

The College organizes annually a Prize giving ceremony to celebrate the efforts made and achievements gained by the students during the academic year. They are recognized and rewarded for outstanding academic achievements as well as the commitment they have put into co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. 

Women Protection Cell

St. Ann’s P.G College for Women Mallapur- Hyderabad has established a Women protection Cell in the college campus for the women faculty, staff and students, to enhance understanding of issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for them.

  • To create awareness amongst students about the issues related to the youth, girls in particular and make them aware of Gender Equity. 
  • To promote a culture of respect and equality for women
  • To create a sense of responsibility in the students and have healthy study and work culture in the College.
  • To help students to change their mindset and attitudes towards life in terms of Women
  • To build a society with social and economic gender equality as envisaged in the Indian Constitution through Carlo Club. 
  • To encourage greater participation and to develop responsible and value oriented leadership in Female students.
  • To create awareness, develop the personality and leadership quality in students.


  • Organizing PPT presentations, Group discussions, Speech, Debate, Essay writing, Extempore, Posters etc on Gender issues to sensitize students.
  • Organizing Seminars and arranging guest lecturers of successful Women.
  • Providing basic amenities for hygiene, education, and other necessities etc to the needy through Carlo Club.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The Annite Grievance Redressal Cell was constituted to probe into the student grievances. The Grievance Redressal Cell attempts to address genuine problems and complaints of students whatever be the nature of the problem.

The objectives of the Grievance Redressal Cell are:
• To create a platform where students can point out their problems, regarding academic and non academic matters.
• Get suggestions from the students for improvement.
• Take necessary steps for improvement in the light of grievances

1. To hold meeting to solve Students’ academic and administrative problems as and when problems take place.
2. To make space and time available to redress Students' Grievances 
3. To co-ordinate between students and Departments / Sections to redress the grievances.
4. To guide ways and means to the students to redress their problems.
